A medal brief should bring the artwork, edge profile and attachment into one drawing. If the design is part of an award or event collection, identify the versions and how the recipient will wear or display each medal.
Medals specification checklist
- Overall size and thickness, including the shape of the edge.
- Front and reverse artwork, with raised or recessed areas clearly marked.
- Loop, ribbon or other attachment reference and the intended wearing arrangement.
- Quantity by design or award level, finish reference and individual packing.
Can the front and back have different artwork?
Include both sides in the brief and label each file clearly. Mark the orientation relative to the attachment loop. The artwork, construction and sample requirements can then be reviewed as one project.
