For shell button projects, review the visible face, thickness and sewing layout together. A reference sample helps communicate the surface appearance and the degree of consistency expected for a particular garment.
Shell Buttons specification checklist
- Diameter or outline, thickness and edge profile.
- Hole number and spacing, with the sewing direction marked.
- Face and reverse appearance references and acceptable variation.
- Material requirements, garment care conditions and order quantity.
Why provide photographs of both faces?
The front and reverse can have different visual characteristics. Label the side intended to face outward and identify any requirement for the reverse. Combine photographs with dimensions and an approved physical reference when possible.
